Preston rookie Daniel Devine is delighted that so many young players are pushing through the ranks at Deepdale. Brown included youngsters Devine and Scott Leather in his starting line-up for Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Ipswich and was pleased with the way they performed. Several other players have already emerged this season and look set to play a more prominent role next season as North End bid to bounce back from relegation to npower League One. Centre-back Devine, 18, said: "The amount of youngsters in the squad today is credit to the youth staff - it is unheard of to bring as many through. "It is great for the football club to see so many players, all of whom that I have played with, coming through the system and hopefully we can help bounce back up into the Championship next season. "It helps knowing a lot of lads around you but once the whistle goes you don't really take notice of anything apart from the job at hand."
