Devine Blow For Preston

25 August 2011 21:38
It has been confirmed that Danny Devine will be out for a month with a broken jaw suffered on a night out with his fellow team mates after he was punched by a member of the public. Devine had been forming a strong partnership at the back with Clarke Carlisle and was out with his team mates last Saturday evening enjoying a night out after Preston's victory. Allegedly he was waiting for a taxi in Preston city centre in the early hours of the morning when inexplicable he was punched by a member of the public. He was taken to hospital by Adam Barton. The defender will now be out for four weeks. This will mean a reshuffle at the back and with Brown refusing to pick Morgan, it could mean a start for McLaughlin at full back ahead of schedule with Maclean starting in the centre. The intrenational break will give Devine some time to recover although he was on standby for the Irish under 21 side which is now no longer the case.
