Deepdale exit for Davidson

Preston have mutually agreed to terminate defender Callum Davidson's contract with immediate effect. Davidson's contract was due to expire in June, but after a season blighted by injury the club have agreed to cut short his stay at Deepdale. The 34-year-old Scot sustained two calf injuries in quick succession and has not featured in the squad since New Year's Day. The former Scotland international joined the club on a free transfer in July 2004 and went on to make 166 league appearances, scoring 22 goals in all competitions. Davidson is expected to join Scottish side St Johnstone, where he started his career.
