Ferguson, 37, was last week appointed as Alan Irvine's successor on a three-and-a-half year contract.[LNB]He admitted he spoke to his father and Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson, who felt the Lancashire outfit would provide him with the ideal challenge.[LNB]"He knows the club well and we both came to the agreement this was the right one for me," Ferguson said.[LNB]"There were other options but we felt this was the best place for me."[LNB][LNB]
