The 33-year-old defender has been restricted to five league appearances this season after tearing his hamstring in August.
Manager Alan Irvine told the Lancashire Evening Evening Post: "Callum will hopefully be joining in with us by the back end of this week.
"He did some training with the young professionals on Monday afternoon so he's getting closer to full fitness.
"We're having him scanned just to make sure there's no longer a problem in there and providing there's not, Callum can step-up his training again.
"It might be he's ready for the QPR game, we'll just see how he is as the week goes on and see what results we get from the scan."
