Cort To Join On Loan

25 November 2010 11:16
Not content with loaning half the players in the Football League, Darren Ferguson is now set to move for Burnley defender Leon Cort. Ferguson has decided it is not his fault that Preston can't defend and he is unwilling to blame his defensive coach David Unsworth. Instead he appears to be blaming the players who seemed to be able to defend to an adequate level under the previous regimes of Simpson and Irvine - even making the play offs one year. Cort has been kept out of the Burnley first team in recent months after originally joining from Stoke. He is set join on loan until January. At that point we will glady give him back to the Clarets as a far poorer defender than when he arrived. Ferguson will have made him into a non-league defender in a matter of no time at all. Preston now appear to be pushing the loan rules to the limit and I'm not actually sure how many players are actually from different clubs and which clubs they belong to. Anyway if Cort does join he will join other loan members Iain Hume, Josh King (who has now returned to United), Matty James, Michael Tonge, Danny Pugh, Ritchie De Laet and any others who I may have forgotten to mention.
