Cort ready for battle

Leon Cort is available for Preston's trip to fellow strugglers Scunthorpe after extending his loan until the end of the season. The Burnley centre-back, who has started five times for the Lilywhites so far this term, will now remain at Deepdale until after North End's last game of the campaign against Watford. However, Cort will be unavailable to play against parent club Burnley when the sides meet on Saturday, February 26. Preston boss Phil Brown will again be without on-loan Blackburn midfielder Amine Linganzi, who sustained a groin injury on his debut in the recent 1-1 draw at home to Leicester. The midfielder underwent surgery this week and faces up to six weeks out, while Callum Davidson and Wayne Brown could also remain sidelined through injury.
