Change Starts Here

After Preston completed one of their poorest seasons since arriving in the Championship, Darren Ferguson has decided to make sweeping changes to the current squad. Ferguson has spoken to all members of the squad and has informed those who are no longer needed at Deepdale. Tom Williams and Elliot Ward who were at Preston on loan will be going back to their respective clubs and Ferguson will not be offering them long term deals despite them both being out of contract in the summer. It is believed that Schumi who has failed to feature under Ferguson has been paid up despite only being at the club for a season. Fellow midfielder Darren Carter is out of contract and this will not be renewed alon with centre back Liam Chilvers who will leave the club in the summer after his contract runs out. Michael Hart is also set to leave the club after failing to impress. Chaplow and Mellor are still under contract at the club but it is believed that Ferguson is willing to accept offers for the pair in order to fund new purchases. Neal Trotman is set to return from his loan spell at Huddersfield after the play offs have finished and Ferguson will assess whether he has a future at the club. Paul Parry will also be given a chance in the summer after being injured for the majority of the campaign under Ferguson. It is likely that Matt James will return from United for a season long loan next season whilst Danny Wellbeck is considering a full loan season at Deepdale next season. There will also be the annual questions raised over Lonergan and St Ledger as they appear to be the most saleable assets to keep the club on an even financial keel. Whatever happens it looks like a summer of change for Preston.
