20 July 2010 13:14
The press in East Lancashire are now linkining Burnley with an attempt to prize Andy Lonergan away from Preston. Brian Laws has stated that he wanted to sign a goalkeeper as at present his only fit professional goalkeeper is Brian Jensen, Burnley's first target was Newcastle reserev keeper, Foster Forster but he has suffered an injury which means any loan deal has been put on hold. Laws is short of options and was ineterested in taking Lonergan around the same time that Wallace joined the Clarets. No formal approach has been made with Preston slapping a £2.5 million price tag on the keepers head after West Brom had a £750,000 bid rejected. Preston have already taken around £1.5 million from Burnley this close season thanks to the sale of Ross Wallace.
