Burnley Enquire Over Treacy

Preston chairman, Maurice Lindsay has revealed that the club have received a casual enquiry from Lancashire neighbours Burnley over a move for Keith Treacy. The Irish winger has made rumblings over his dislike for playing in League One whilst away on international duty and whilst Phil Brown rates his ability, if an offer came in for the winger then Preston would look to cash in. Treacy has been known to be distracted from his game on occassions although Phil Brown did seem to get some consistency out of him towards the end of the season. This is countered though by the fact that Brown had to pull the winger off after half an hour during the second to last game at Ipswich due to a lack of effort. It is not thought that a formal bid was made by Burnley but a mere enquiry was made over the winger's situation. Treacy is under contract but if Preston receive a sizeable bid then it is clear the Irish international will be allowed to leave.
