Bruce Linked To Coutts

Preston have denied that Hull City have made any formal approach to Preston to sign Paul Coutts.

Reports both sides of the Pennines suggest that no official enquiry has been made but work is ongoing behind the scenes to enable Paul Coutts to sign for Hull this summer.

The midfielder had a falling out with Graham Westley (who didn't last season?) and was stripped of the captaincy before wearing the armband for the last two games. It is thought that he had a transfer request denied by the club.

It is clear that Coutts wants out and with a year left on his contract Preston would be wise to cash in now on the midfielder. A fee of around £400,000 is beleived to be what Preston would be willing to accept.

Phil Brown has been singing the praises of Coutts to the Hull press and believes he can help the Tigers in a promotion quest back to the top flight next season.
