Brown targets Premier League loans

New Preston manager Phil Brown is working hard to strengthen his squad in the January transfer market. Brown, who took over the reins at Deepdale last week, has addressed the need to strengthen his squad in a bid to avoid relegation and would like to bring in a couple of new faces before Saturday's trip to Leicester. "I'm talking with a lot of managers, a lot of Premier League clubs and a lot of good players," the former Hull boss told the Lancashire Evening Post. "We have to sell them the idea that at the end of this we will still be in the Championship. Sometimes, Premier League managers might not want to lend out players because of a certain situation at the club who want the loans. "The club might not play the right way, they might not get on with the manager, or it's because the club are in the type of position we're in at the moment. "As far as I'm concerned, a lot of good Premier League players are playing reserve-team football. Maybe they need the experience which we can give them."
