Brown revels in Preston fight

Preston boss Phil Brown has hailed the new-found fighting spirit among his squad and believes it bodes well for their hopes of avoiding relegation.

North End are in buoyant mood after successive victories against Scunthorpe and Coventry breathed new life into their bid to beat the drop. Brown`s men remain bottom of the npower Championship but the former Hull boss insists his men have the stomach for the fight in the closing weeks of the campaign.

"We have improved the lads in the way they approach the game mentally and the way they approach the game physically," said Brown.

"They are buying into the way we are doing things and, fortunately for me, when we have a good group like that they keep on going.

"There's a lot more belief in the changing room now; a lot more confidence and we'll be working tirelessly to beat Swansea in our next game."
