Brown in upbeat mood

Preston boss Phil Brown is confident his side are heading in the right direction ahead of Saturday`s home clash with leaders QPR. North End have yet to taste victory since Brown took the helm last month and they lie rock-bottom of the npower Championship. Yet Brown has seen signs of improvement in recent matches and believes his men can pose a serious threat to Neil Warnock`s table-topping side. Brown said: "Players have been talking to me about the improvement, they are buying into the system and they are buying into the way we are playing. "The pitches at this stage of the season are not conducive to football and we have got to battle and scrap and try and get whatever points we can on board. "Who knows, we could give QPR a real fright and run for their money on Saturday."
