Brown hails progress

Preston boss Phil Brown has paid tribute to his side as they gear up for a hectic run of fixtures which could decide their fate. North End have collected 14 points from their last seven games and now lie just four points adrift of safety. They travel to Millwall on Saturday and host Cardiff on Monday, with Brown confident in the abilities of his men as they bid to beat the drop. Brown said: "Before I came to the club, I had watched two or three of Preston's games and I had noticed a quality that is probably top half of the Championship. "You could even go further and say the quality is play-off material. But once you get in that downward spiral of losing games, bad habits creep in. "Since we arrived, myself and Brian Horton, I think we have slowly but surely stopped those bad habits from reoccurring or from happening too often."
