Brown calls for Preston response

Preston boss Phil Brown has urged his players to bounce straight back from Tuesday's defeat at Reading when they head to Portsmouth this weekend.

North End's run of three successive wins was ended by a 2-1 reverse at the Madejski Stadium and put another dent in their survival hopes. Brown's men lie eight points from safety with seven matches remaining but the former Hull manager is expecting a strong response from his men at Fratton Park.

Brown said: "The energy levels weren't there [on Tuesday] as much as they have been over the last three games and we need to get those energy levels back for Saturday.

"We've got no fear of anything in our changing room and we've got a belief and a confidence."
