Brown believes Preston can avoid relegation

Preston boss Phil Brown insists he has never wavered in his belief that he can keep the relegation-threatened club in the npower Championship.

North End have endured a dismal campaign and were 13 points from safety until Brown engineered a recent run of form which has encouraged hopes of survival. His resurgent side have collected 14 points from their last seven games and now lie just four points adrift of safety.

Brown said: "My belief has never changed, it has gone all the way through because of what we have got in the changing room.

"Sometimes you don't see that as outsiders looking in, but I see warts-and-all in every training session and every game.

"I see what is good about them, what's indifferent about them, I see what is bad about them. It's about managing them and making sure that the good comes out more than the bad."
