Brown backing his new boys

Preston manager Phil Brown believes his new recruits will provide the winning mentality that his side need to climb out of relegation trouble. North End are rock-bottom of the npower Championship and have yet to taste victory since Brown took over at Deepdale last month. Yet the former Derby and Hull boss is confident that Leon Clarke, Ian Ashbee and Eddie Johnson can get the Lilywhites firing again. Brown said: "As far as I'm concerned, Ian Ashbee is a winner, Eddie Johnson has come from a winning environment and Leon Clarke has come in from a winning environment. "It comes from the individual, then it spreads collectively throughout the changing room. If you are in a winning team, then everybody joins you. "If you are in a losing team, nobody wants to know. As far as I am concerned, I want people to join it."
