Brighton Show Carter Interest

Phil Brown and Preston appear to have had the last laugh as far as midfielder Darren Carter is concerned as he is still without a club.

Carter who failed to impress at Deepdale under Paul Simpson, Alan Irvine, Darren Ferguson and Phil Brown was incredibly offered new terms when his contract ran out last summer.

Due to Preston reducing their wage bill, and the fact that Carter is abysmal, he was offered reduced terms but was also free to find another club. He declined Preston's offer and has been kicking his heels since. In fact it's probably been the best start to the season that Carter has had in the past 5 seasons.

He has now been offered a lifeline at Brighton as Gus Poyet has offered the midfielder a trial although it is uncertain if he will be taken on due to his excessive wage demands and inept failure to play football at a decent level.
