Peter Ridsdale had previously confirmed that two offers had been rejected for an unamed striker. at last night's game it was thought that Westley was overheard saying that Beavon was set to sign for Preston but now it is understood that an offer is on the table for the young striker.
After Billy Paynter joined Doncaster yesterday it seemed apparent that Preston were in for Beavon and Westley confirmed that this was the case to the press. No offer has been accepted as of yet.
