At Long Last!

After six draws and six defeats, Phil Brown managed to taste victory for the first time as Preston manager as they defeated fellow relegation candidates Scunthorpe. Scunthorpe had pulled away from Preston in recent weeks thanks to some decent results but the Whites managed to put this match away within the first forty five minutes. This is the third time that this match was set to go ahead and it was lucky for Preston that it did. Treacey gave Preston the lead just after the half hour mark before Jones bundled in a corner just moments later. Hume then completed the scoring just before half time. Preston are now ten points from safety which is still a bridge too far but Brown will be hoping that some momentum can be taken from this game into Saturday's home clash against Coventry who drew away at Burnley this evening.
