Rumour has been rife since Westley left the club last Wednesday. Grayson has been the frontrunner and heavy favourite for the job since the book was opened.
No official word has been forthcoming but it is understood that Grayson was flying back from Dubai at the weekend to tie up a deal and there have been sitings and miss sitings of him at the training ground today.
It is also apparent that a member of Grayson's backroom staff was in attendance at Deepdale on Saturday. Any official word is likely to come over the next couple of days.
