And Then There Were Eight

Eight Preston players reported back for pre-season training and for their sins they have been sent to East Lancashire for the next 10 days or so.

It is now clear that Westley wants very little to do with the old regime save for Bailey Wright, Stuckmann and youngster Fairhurst with all three only becoming involved in the side after relegation.

It was always believed that certain players returning to pre-season would be seperated from the main squad but initially it was believed to be the transfer listed players only.

In the last week or so Tsoumou has left the clun whilst Russell has been given an extra couple of days off to sort out the cancellation of his contract. Nicholson has also been granted extra leave to agree a move to Fleetwood.

Barton, Coutts, Daley, Hume, Mayor, McGlaughlin, Morgan and Proctor have all reported back for pre-season training one week after teh rest of the squad. They will not train with the squad and will instead be training in a gym in East Lancashire. Westley has confirmed they will still be undertaking the same training regime as the first team squad.

It is hoped that the extra ten days will allow the players to find a new club failing which Risdale has stated that Westley will have to look at reintegrating the players back into the first team squad.
