Accrington Finally Pay Up

20 August 2010 09:07
Preston received a small sum of £4,500 which has been owing to them for three years from Accrington Stanley. The money being such a small sum was deferred between the two chairmen at the time but now that Preston are in the midst of a takeover, they called in the debt albeit for such a small amount. The outstanding money meant that Stanley had a transfer embargo placed upon them. The sum of £4,500 has now been paid and Stanley are now able to deal in the transfer market again with Tom Smyth, a former Preston youngster likely to be their first new signing.
