Portugal's Almeida battles flu

Portugal striker Hugo Almeida missed training on Sunday, a day after his side lost their Euro 2012 opener to Germany, with a bout of flu while winger Ricardo Quaresma is still getting over a leg muscle strain, the Portuguese Federation said.

Both players watched the 1-0 defeat from the bench in Lviv.

Those who did play had a 30-minute session before a crowd of some 500 curious locals before signing autographs and handing out T-shirts, the Federation said.

Portugal, finalists in 2004, now have to get a result in their match against Denmark, shock winners over Holland, on Wednesday in Lviv.
