Portugal have chosen the western Polish town of Opalenica as their Euro 2012 base, the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) said Friday.

The squad will stay at the Hotel Remes as they prepare for group matches against Denmark, fancied Germany and Holland.

FPF sporting director Carlos Godinho noted that the Germans and the Dutch would also be staying in Poland and observed that for the opening two games against Germany and then Denmark they would only have to travel for around an hour over the border into Ukraine for the June 9 and 13 dates at Lviv.

Cristiano Ronaldo and company face the Dutch on June 17 in the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv.
