Portugal coach Paulo Bento has extended his deal until 2014, the Portuguese Football Federation announced on Thursday.

Bento, who as a club coach guided Sporting Lisbon to two Portuguese Cups, took over from Carlos Queiroz as coach of the Seleccao in September 2010.

The former Sporting and Benfica defensive midfielder, who won 35 caps for Portugal, is to name his 23-man squad for the Euro 2012 tournament on May 14.

The squad will leave for its finals base of Opalenica, in the west of Poland, on June 4 after a training camp in central Portugal.

Their first match at the finals is against Germany on June 9 in Lviv, followed by Denmark -- who edged them in their qualifying group -- at the same venue on the 13th.

Portugal round off their group matches against the Netherlands four days later in Kharkiv.
