Chelsea appear to have won the race to sign to sign FC Porto's highly-rated full-back Jose Bosingwa.
Manchester United, Liverpool and Aston Villa had all been linked with the 25-year-old former Boavista player but the Blues are understood to have had a £16.2million bid for the player accepted.
Porto announced in a statement to the Portuguese Stock Exchange that a deal had been agreed.
It read: "We inform the market that we have an understanding with Chelsea for the rights to our player Jose Bosingwa for the price of 20.5million euros.
"More information on the relative agreement of the transfer will be legalised once the player concludes the medical examinations that he is now having with the permission of Porto football club."
Bosingwa has made more than 100 appearances for Porto, helping the team win the 2007-08 title.
He has also broken into the Portugal side in the last 12 months, replacing Miguel as his country's first-choice right-back.
