Work permit woe for Mokoena

Portsmouth captain Aaron Mokoena will miss this weekend's trip to Doncaster after his work permit expired. The defender is stuck in South Africa following their midweek friendly against Kenya and will not be issued with a new permit until Monday. Boss Steve Cotterill told The News: "It's a long way to go for a friendly to sit on the bench. It's even more frustrating that he can't get back here until Monday because of a visa." It is the latest in a series of selection problems this season for Cotterill, whose side are without a win in 10 games. Defender Tal Ben Haim and midfielders Richard Hughes and Michael Brown are all still unavailable due to contract issues.
