Who Is Going Where?

The page to track the latest news on where the Pompey players might be next season. With the end of the season coming, there is going to be allsorts written and spoken in the press about our players. So what better way to follow it all than to place all of the latest news about who is staying and who is going where in one place? This page is dedicated to keeping all Pompey fans up-to-date with the latest rumours and deals regarding Pompey's players, as well as my own thoughts on where the players might end up. It has been split into four sections; those who are out of contract, those who we own (and therefore are sellable assets), those we will be giving back to their parent clubs and those who will be returning from loan (which is only David Nugent).Out Of ContractDavid James: Has expressed an interest in dropping down a league and staying with Pompey, but will have to take a huge pay cut.Jamie Ashdown: Has pledged to stay with Pompey if he is offered a new deal.Ricardo Rocha: Might be wanted by other clubs after impressing in a blue shirt, but might show Pompey some loyalty after dragging him out of obscurity.Hermann Hreidarsson: Wants to stay at the club and hopes to be offered a new deal.Steve Finnan: Hasn't ruled out staying at Pompey, but admits he is in limbo at the moment.Joel Ward: Youngster wants to stay with Pompey, but could be wanted by a lower league club.Angelos Basinas: I'd be surprised to see him here next season. I expect he'll return to Greece for a year.Kanu: It's doubtful he'll stay beyond this season unless he is willing to take a huge drop in wages.OJ Koroma: The forgotten man has had problems with injuries and will probably be released at the end of the season. The AssetsAaron Mokoena: Previously linked with Wolves, though could stay with Pompey.Tal Ben-Haim: Is on a long contract with big wages so is likely to be culled, even if he would make a good player at Championship level.Marc Wilson: Claims that he wants to stay and would be very welcome to, but with the likes of Fulham rumoured to be offering £4 million for him, I can't see the administrator turning that sort of money down.Nadir Belhadj: Is certain to leave and is likely to return to France in the summer, though a couple of Premier League clubs are interested in the Algerian.Lennard Sowah: Has already had enquiries made about him according to Andrew Andronikou so it's likely the 19-year-old will move on.Hayden Mullins: Linked with a move to Southampton, to be reunited with Alan Pardew.Papa Bouba Diop: Has been reported to have been touted to Paris Saint-Germain and is unlikely to be slumming it in the Championship next year, although it would suit him.Michael Brown: It's doubtful that any top flight club would want him, so could be persuaded to stay on at Fratton Park.Richard Hughes: Could possibly stay as he is likely to be a regular in the team next year after so many years of being a fringe player.Kevin-Prince Boateng: Is certain to leave and will probably fetch the biggest fee out of the players owned by the club. West Ham are said to be interested but they won't be the only club.Matt Ritchie: Has already made a name for himself in League Two so could be tempted by away by a lower league club with money, but I hope he is given his chance with us next year.John Utaka: Has expressed an interest in staying with us for the Championship. As big a flop as he has been, he could flourish if played as a centre forward in the lower leagues. Would he be willing to accept the pay cut though?Danny Webber: The most likely player to stay with us given that he is on low wages and wasn't even wanted by League One teams last year.Tommy Smith: Says he wants to stay at Pompey but is a very good player at Championship level and could be taken away from us.Loan ReturnsAnthony Vanden Borre: Going back to Anderlecht.Jamie O'Hara: Likely to move from Tottenham, but certainly won't be returning to us.Hassan Yebda: Returning to Benfica.Frederic Piquionne: Has hinted that he might come back next year, but is far more likely to move to another Premier League club or a club in France.Aruna Dindane: Is almost certain to be joining Blackburn next summer after much speculation.Returning From LoanDavid Nugent: Will be sold to a Premier League club if one expresses an interest. If not, then who knows?
