Whittingham eases Gyepes fears

Stand-in Portsmouth boss Guy Whittingham says Gabor Gyepes will not undergo tests after suffering from heart palpitations.

The Hungarian was an unused substitute in the 1-1 draw at Coventry on Saturday, having been withdrawn after 35 minutes of the previous game against Leyton Orient. Whittingham has confirmed the selection decision was precautionary, and the problem is not as serious as first thought. He told the Chichester Observer:

"Gabor wasn't quite right for the game (on Saturday). It was time to give him a break and give him some time out.

"He didn't have a test. It was probably just tiredness. His body wasn't 100 per cent, so that was the right way to go.

"I think everything is okay. He'll be in contention for the game against Tranmere."
