Webber comeback on hold

Portsmouth striker Danny Webber has had to put his comeback from a cruciate injury on hold. The 28-year-old, who has been sidelined since March, hoped to be back in contention around Christmas but is feeling pain in his leg and will not resume training until the end of January at the earliest."Danny went to see the specialist the other day," Pompey manager Steve Cotterill told The News. "He is still a little bit down on his muscle bulk and we are maybe looking at him joining in training towards the end of January."Even then, it could be no-contact training. I do not want to rush him back. He's had a tough injury and we have just got to make sure that when he comes back, it is right."There has not been a setback, he's just not where he wants to be."When you come back from these injuries, quite often you get others. He has not had another injury but has had a little bit of pain in front of the patellar tendon. That's probably nature's way of slowing him down a bit."
