VIDEO SPECIAL: Crouch on the pull as the England goalscorer delivers a robotic reminder of Smithy's

On the pull: Crouch Peter Crouch returned to his robotic scoring ways at Wembley last night. The Portsmouth striker's scissor-kicked opener for England against Ukraine at Wembley was he 16th international goal and he celebrated it in style - just as James Corden told him to. Actor Corden, who plays the role of Smithy in BBC comedy Gavin and Stacey, told Crouch in a Comic Relief spoof tactics session (below) to celebrate his next England hat-trick by performing a robotic rope-pull. OK, so the 28-year-old striker didn't quite manage to score three but he did as instructed after beating Ukraine keeper Andriy Pyatov in the 32nd minute. The former Liverpool and Southampton centre forward, who stands at a whopping 6ft 7in in his stocking feet, first celebrated a goal with his robotic dance moves in 2006 in a pre-World Cup friendly against Hungary. Crouch scored the third goal as England defeated the Hungarians 3-1 at Old Trafford. On that day a dance craze - or shouldn't that be crazy dance - was born.
