Utaka wants Pompey stay

Portsmouth striker John Utaka wants to snub a return to France and fight for his place at Fratton Park.[LNB] The 27-year-old is understood to be a target for French champions Bordeaux and former club Rennes, whom he left in a £7million switch to Pompey back in 2007.[LNB]While the striker will see how the proposed takeover of Portsmouth affects the club, he insists he wants to stay and show his true potential after only scoring six goals in two years at Fratton Park.[LNB]The Nigerian, who has two years left on his contract at Portsmouth, told the Daily Star: "Maybe I could go back to France but I want to stay and show a few people what I can do.[LNB]"I admit the fans have not seen the best of me yet and I want to put that right."[LNB]
