Transfer would suit Kranjcar
12 Feb 2009 - 11:26:41
Croatia international Niko Kranjcar would welcome the chance to leave Portsmouth this summer.
The 24-year-old former Dinamo Zagreb and Hajduk Split midfielder has been with Pompey since the summer of 2006, finding the net nine times in 87 appearances for the club.
However, he is keen to follow in the footsteps of Lassana Diarra and Jermain Defoe, who left Fratton Park in big-money moves last month.
Kranjcar said: "It was always my intention to move to a bigger club. If an offer came from a larger club, of course I would want to go."
The son of former Croatia coach Zlato Kranjcar, he overcame a shaky start at Pompey to become a regular starter in midfield.
His goal which squirmed through embarrassed England goalkeeper Scott Carson's hands at Wembley in November 2007 put Croatia on their way to qualifying for Euro 2008.
