Tough week for Portsmouth

Portsmouth manager Michael Appleton was disappointed with the timing of the goals in his side's 3-0 defeat at Notts County. A double from Yoann Arquin either side of Alan Judge's strike sank Pompey at the end of a week overshadowed by personal sadness. Appleton said: "The timing of the goals hurt us in a big way. Conceding in the first five minutes of the first half and the first five minutes of the second half means you are climbing a big, big mountain. "I couldn't see the second goal coming - I haven't looked at it again yet but it looked a long way out and I think our keeper will be disappointed with that. "It's been a tough few days. My assistant Ashley Westwood lost his father in the early hours of Friday morning, who was also a good friend of mine, so it doesn't get any worse than it has been over the last couple of days to be honest with you. "It's been a bit tough to be honest with you and this hasn't helped."
