Eddie Howe has recalled Wes Thomas back to Bournemouth, ending his loan spell with Portsmouth immediately.
There were always hints in the media that this might happen so the news comes as no shock, even if it is disappointing,
Thomas chipped in with a few goals and it is no surprise that Izale McLeod has found his best form with Wes as his strike partner.
However, as one door closes another opens and this might allow Luke Rodgers a run in the team, where he had been one of Pompey's top performers before his injury at Notts County.
Having said that, Michael Appleton claims that he will be looking to loan in another striker before Monday night's trip to Bramall Lane.
