Thomas lands Tigers chance
Former Portsmouth and Charlton winger Jerome Thomas is to train with Hull City as he looks to find a new club for the coming season.
The talented 26-year-old is available as a free agent having left Fratton Park in the summer upon the expiration of his contract.
Thomas' time on the South Coast was badly interrupted by a back injury but back to his physical best after a close-season in which he has worked with a personal trainer, he is aiming to get fixed up with another Premier League club.
Prior to his injury last term Thomas had established himself as a player of genuine talent at Charlton, making over 100 Premier League appearances.
"There's been a few clubs interested from the Premier League and Championship," Thomas told skysports.com.
"I'm going to go down to Hull tomorrow (Friday) to train with them. I'm there for a week and raring to go.
"I hope there are some friendlies set-up and hope the training is going to be intense.
"I'm going down there to keep fit but obviously I know Hull are a great club.
"They did brilliantly last season in staying up. Hull are a very big club and the Premier League is the top level to be at."
Thomas admits that should circumstances be right for both parties he would be willing to negotiate a permanent stay at the KC Stadium.
"I'm going down there and if a deal can be set up then great, if it works for both parties," he concluded.
Crystal Palace are also thought to be interested in Thomas, with Eagles boss Neil Warnock having conceded he has spoken to Harry Rednapp, who signed him for Portsmouth, about the player.
