The Rebuilding Begins

Agyemang and Racon set to sign as the squad begins to take shape.
Patrick Agyemang and Therry Racon could be the first permanent additions to Guy Whittingham's Portsmouth squad.
According to Jordan Cross from The News Agyemang has already agreed a deal and Racon is close to signing for the club permanently.
Agyemang's worth to Pompey doesn't need to be said but Racon goes about his business well too. He can do the gritty stuff but also has some flair to his game and that will be an asset in League Two.
With those two looking like joining the new Pompey revolution permanently, it should be the catalyst for others to sign. David Connolly has been sounding positive about staying at the club whilst Simon Eastwood and Shaun Cooper want to stay too.
It remains to be seen if Jed Wallace and Dan Butler can be convinced to stay but at least things have moved quickly to secure the services of two high quality players in League Two.
Who else might be snapped up? Mustapha Dumbuya is out of contract after his stint at Crawley and has mentioned his desire to play for Pompey on Twitter more than once.
Marlon Pack is another who is out of contract with Cheltenham. After two successive seasons in the PFA League Two team of the year might he want to come back to Pompey?
Guy Whittingham has also been showing younger players from other clubs around Fratton Park, attempting to sell to them what we are all trying to achieve.
It makes a change to be talking about players signing for Pompey on a permanent basis! It feels slightly alien after everything that has happened and maybe even a little uncomfortable for some.
But this is all positive news and there should be plenty more to come given the early announcements from the new owners. For once, it feels good to be a Portsmouth fan again.
