Former Liverpool and Middlesbrough star Boudewijn Zenden is on trial at Sunderland. The ex-Holland international, who has been looking for a club since the summer, is on Wearside for a week, according to his father. Hull, Portsmouth, Stoke and Burnley were all linked with the midfielder, who earned the nickname Bolo from former Brazil striker Ronaldo when they were together at Barcelona. Zenden, who won 54 caps for Holland, has been scouring the Barclays Premier League for a new club after being released by Marseille, but the 31-year-old has failed to find new employers to match his £1million-a-year wage demands. His father Pierre is also his agent and he has told Dutch newspapers today that Zenden is with Steve Bruce's side in a bid to win a new deal.   But Bruce appeared to play down any chances of signing Zenden when he said: 'Bolo has joined us for a while and will train at the academy for a few weeks as he looks for a new club.   'He clearly has a first-class pedigree as a player so it's great to have him here.'
