Storrie: Paul Hart doing a great job

Portsmouth chief executive Peter Storrie is pleased that the club decided to stick with Paul Hart.

Hart came under pressure when Pompey lost their first seven Premier League matches of the season, but the club now seems to have turned the corner after beating Stoke City in the Carling Cup last week before hammering Wigan Athletic in the Premier League on Saturday.

"I'm delighted for Paul. He deserves success," Storrie told The Sun.

"It's been such a tough time for everyone but he's been an absolute brick right the way through it. It would have been easy to say we're losing games so we need to let Paul go.

"A lot of managers in his position would have said they wanted to go because he has been taking stick from some of our own fans. There have been campaigns to get him out.

"But he's ridden above that and we know he's doing a great job. Paul has always had great support from all of the players."
