Storrie - No move for Sven

Portsmouth executive chairman Peter Storrie has dismissed talk of a bid to land Sven-Goran Eriksson. The former England boss, who is currently out of work after being relieved of his duties with Mexico in March, has been strongly linked with the managerial post at Pompey. The south coast club finished the 2008/09 campaign with interim coach Paul Hart at the helm, but are expected to bring in a new man over the summer. With the club having recently agreed to a takeover bid from Middle-Eastern billionaire Sulaiman Al-Fahim, there has been talk of a 'big name' appointment. Eriksson would certainly fit that bill, but Storrie insists no decision regarding the hot-seat at Fratton Park has been made as yet. "It's a complete nonsense," he told The News. "No discussions have gone on about a new manager coming in whatsoever. Everything is staying as it is. "The football manager remains the same and we move forward until such time as the new owner comes in. At that stage decisions will be made at all levels of the business. "I don't see great changes at this time, but obviously that is a decision for them at that moment. "The suggestion that we are in discussions with Sven-Goran Eriksson and other things I think comes from agents. "That's who I would be looking at. They are the ones putting people's names about. It has certainly not come from us or Dr Sulaiman." Eriksson has remained tight-lipped regarding his future in recent weeks, giving no indication as to where his next move will take him. Along with the Pompey post he has also been linked with a move to Sporting Lisbon, but the Swede insists there is no imminent appointment on the cards. "I have no comment on this," he has been quoted as saying. "I am a free man at the moment and I will decide when I am ready."
