A consortium led by Portsmouth chief executive officer Peter Storrie is in talks over a deal to buy the club. There has been extensive speculation over the future of the club in recent months, with fears that Sulaiman Al Fahim's takeover bid had run into problems. However, reports claimed earlier on Wednesday that a partnership between Storrie and Al Fahim has been agreed and, with Portsmouth confirming the latter may be involved, it appears a deal involving Storrie is set to go through in the near future. A statement on the club's official website read: "A new consortium led by chief executive officer Peter Storrie is in negotiations with the owner of Portsmouth FC to buy the Premier League club. "The group is very positive about the talks and are confident that the deal can be completed. "Sulaiman Al Fahim may partner the new consortium through Al Fahim Asia Associates. "The necessary Premier League regulations and requirements will be complied with. "No further comment will be made by the club until any purchase is complete."
