Storrie drops Hart hint

Portsmouth chief executive Peter Storrie has hinted that he would like Paul Hart to remain as manager beyond the end of the season.[LNB] The Fratton Park director of youth operations moved to a role as caretaker chief last February as a replacement for the sacked Tony Adams.[LNB]Hart and assistant Brian Kidd were then appointed until the end of the season to steer the South Coast outfit away from trouble at the bottom of the Premier League and, with two games remaining, last season's FA Cup winners are on the verge of safety.[LNB]Ahead of Monday's home meeting with fellow strugglers Sunderland, Pompey, who have received criticism for perceived negative tactics, sit four points clear of the bottom three and could guarantee their survival with a win.[LNB]Storrie has indicated that Hart has impressed and has backed the former Nottingham Forest boss to adopt a more expansive style of play if he is retained. [LNB]ConsistentHe said in the Portsmouth News: "If they take the job on full-time and that's the decision we make, I think you'll see a completely different team next season."[LNB]Meanwhile, Hart believes he justifies a pat on the back following a steady tenure which has recorded 14 points from 12 games.[LNB]However, the 56-year-old maintains that he will not lose focus until Portsmouth guarantee their top-flight status.[LNB]"I've been consistent since I came here - we need more points. There will be no celebrations yet," he said.[LNB]"It's still in our hands and it's up to us to get that shove over the line. We are all working together."[LNB]
