Spurs confirm Crouch interest

Tottenham Hotspur have joined the chase to sign England striker Peter Crouch from Premier League rivals Portsmouth.

The 28-year-old has already held talks with Sunderland this summer, while Fulham are also interesting in tempting Crouch away from Fratton Park.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp told Sky Sports News: "I like Peter. I've signed him several times and he's a top player.

"He's a player that we could be interested in, but we'll have to wait and see.

"Portsmouth obviously want to sell him now, they've accepted offers for him, so if they want to sell him, we'd be interested."

Crouch rejoined Pompey a year ago for £9million from Liverpool and scored 16 goals in 49 appearances in all competitions last term.
