Sol Campbell puts Premier League clubs on alert

Campbell, who lifted the FA Cup for Portsmouth in 2008, is one of the most experienced central defenders in the Premier League but insisted that he wants at least two more years in the top flight. 'I'm out of contract and I'm going to listen to different offers,' said the former England international, now 34. 'I want to make the right choice.' The proposed takeover of Portsmouth, by Dr Sulaiman Al Fahim, has yet to be completed while the future of caretaker manager Paul Hart remains unclear. 'At the moment it just seems there are a lot of things happening in the background. It may resolve itself, I don't know,' added Campbell, who is aware of interest from clubs both here and abroad. West Ham, Everton and Aston Villa are all believed to be monitoring the situation and Campbell added: 'For me, as a player, I want to be in the right environment for at least the next two years, to be successful. 'It's top to bottom: you want a good chairman, you want a great manager, it doesn't matter if he's coming into the game or if he's vastly experienced. You want stability.'
