Smith bigs Williamson up
New Portsmouth forward Tommy Smith has put in a good word for his former Watford team-mate Mike Williamson, who has been linked with a move to Fratton Park.
Pompey boss Paul Hart asked for his opinion on Williamson as a possible replacement for Sylvain Distin following his move to Everton.
"I have spoken to the gaffer here about him and was asked what I think, and I certainly think he can step up," said Smith.
"He's a good player, somebody who is hungry for the challenge and a very hard worker.
"I think he would be a great acquisition for the club."
