Shinawatra denies Pompey link

Former Manchester City owner Thaksin Shinawatra has categorically denied links to the proposed takeover of Portsmouth.[LNB] A media report on Saturday claimed the former Thai prime minister has been involved in Sulaiman Al-Fahim's bid for the South Coast club.[LNB]But Portsmouth executive chairman Peter Storrie later strongly denied the claim on Sky Sports News, branding it 'absolutely farcical'.[LNB]And a statement on Portsmouth's official website on Sunday said Shinawatra had been in contact to confirm "he has no interest whatsoever" in the proposed takeover.[LNB]Not involvedShinawatra said: "I am not involved with Sulaiman Al-Fahim's bid in any way.[LNB]"I have no interest in Portsmouth FC and furthermore I have no plans to become involved in any football club in the future.[LNB]"I have been surprised and shocked by the media coverage and my name being linked with the club.[LNB]"There is absolutely no truth in this."[LNB]
