Rocha To Return

Portuguese centre back to come back to Pompey. There was a rumour last night that Ricardo Rocha had been coaxed back to Portsmouth by Steve Cotterill, and the local news has virtually confirmed that after seeing the Portuguese defender at the training ground today. The 31-year-old has come back to Pompey despite originally being unsure of making a return and Steve Cotterill stated not so long ago that he had given up on bringing him back to Fratton Park. The cynics will say that Rocha has only come back because no other club would have him, but if he has, it doesn't really matter when you're at the bottom of the Championship. The bottom line is that Rocha is a quality player and hopefully will resume the excellent partnership alongside Aaron Mokoena that was instrumental in Pompey's latter stages of last season's FA Cup run.I hope that's what Cotterill is planning anyway, as I don't want to see Rocha partnered with Sonko if it meant Mokoena moving into midfield, but there is the option of playing Sonko at right back which might be better for him.On a final note, I'd like to commend the people at Pompey for their Carling Cup pricing scheme for the game against Leicester. It's hard to argue with a tenner for an adult and a fiver for a child. The incentive for a season ticket holder to buy a ticket for Tuesday's game and then have the opportunity to buy two more tickets for a fiver each for the league game the following Friday also should be praised, as I'm sure there will be season ticket holders who will want to get their friends into Fratton Park for a low price.Well done, Pompey.
