Redknapp lauds James but admits there's no room at the Lane for Pompey No 1

Harry Redknapp has backed David James to guide Portsmouth to Barclays Premier League safety this year - rather than join him at White Hart Lane. The Tottenham Hotspur boss considers his former Fratton Park No 1 to be the best English goalkeeper around, but says he is happy with Heurelho Gomes and Carlo Cudicini. James, 39, is concerned by what is happening at Portsmouth amid the prolonged takeover by United Arab Emirates businessman Sulaiman Al Fahim. But Redknapp said: 'I've got two keepers. Two outstanding goalkeepers. I can't  take another goalkeeper. 'If I didn't have a goalkeeper he would be top of my list, believe you me, but I'm OK in that position.
